The Heart Behind the Program

After studying at Iowa State University, and graduating in December 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Services, each opportunity led me back to my passion for early education.
After spending time as a stay at home mom, I wanted to create an environment for other young children to grow and learn.
In the fall of 2019, I opened my own preschool program!
Since then I have had the opportunity to partner with families and. children of varying abilities and offer support and individualized education.
Throughout this time, I have continued to focus on quality improvement and I am now accredited through Colorado Shines with a Level 5 rating.
As an early educator, the most important part of my program is to see each child as an individual and do my best to give each child the support they need.
The learning in my program is primarily done through play, with additional time set aside each day for some instruction and alternative learning.
Communication is important to me, and daily conversations, updates, photos, and scheduled conferences throughout the year help keep parents involved with their child's learning and social emotional growth.
I continue to seek opportunities to learn more by enrolling and attending classes throughout the year. Just like a preschooler's brain, my brain is always ready to learn more!
Curriculum and Environment Planning
My curriculum addresses skills and concepts in a wide range of academic and developmental areas. The year is broken down into learning themes. Class materials, instruction, literature, and applicable videos coincide with the themes as they change. Careful planning is used to choose which lessons and materials to provide, depending on the specific children and their individual needs.
As a preschool and kindergarten prep program, children benefit from having exposure to early concepts in literacy, math, science, and social studies.
For this reason, children are exposed to these early concepts, but the focus of the program is social emotional support.
